Hi, I’m Marie Chow!

Marie is a former teacher, education evaluator, and engineer. A lifelong student, she has degrees in chemical engineering, teaching, an MFA in writing, and a doctorate in educational leadership.

Her writing focuses on bilingual and English-only children’s books that feature mixed families, as well as literary and contemporary fiction focused on Asian and Asian American characters.

She has written original picture books for Disney and Marvel — including A Place for Mulan, Disney Princess: Once Upon a Flower Girl, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: Who Guards My Sleep? — alongside her independently published picture books. For grown-up readers, she also writes literary fiction.
